Originally written for my old band, the Old Wives.
Demo was done with guitar and vocals in the summer of 2014. I threw a couple room mics up in my basement, and played the drums to it Wednesday July 1st 2015. Enjoy.
lyrics
At dusk the day turns to night, it starts sinking in,
There's surely trouble on the horizon once again
Memories of back when we were wild and free,
Somehow we changed our lives, entirely
Dumb and stupid, may have been the way to stay,
To continue our lives happy in that way
Imagination like a mental lisp,
You're all that keeps me from my life dismissed
I miss the simple things in life, and I just hate it when we fight
And secretly you're always right, but I'm holding on.
I won't keep secrets, but i'll hold back little things,
Don't wanna keep on hurting you or your feelings
The drug abuse may mask my painful past,
Someday I'll share it all, and hope we'll last.
I miss the simple things in life, and I just hate it when we fight
But you're all that I can hold onto in this tormented life
When I think to myself, suicide is painless, I just might
Remember all my hate for everybody, it ain't right
So i'm holding on
I miss the simple things in life, and I just hate it when we fight
And secretly you're always right, but I'm holding on
